Hall of Fame 2020
The Prowler Hall of Fame Committee would like to announce that Jeff Lindquist, Joe Taylor and the 1956 State Hockey Championship Team will be inducted into the Prowler Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 3rd during the homecoming weekend festivities in Thief River Falls.
Jeff Lindquist is a 1976 graduate of LHS and an accomplished teacher and high school hockey coach. He is the fifth winningest hockey coach in Minnesota with 599 wins, he has coached 7 state tournament teams, was the 1989 ND state hockey coach of the year and 5 time MN section hockey coach of the year, amongst many other awards. He currently teaches at Bloomington Jefferson and retired from coaching the Jaguars after 17 seasons. He has been married to his wife Robin, for over 25 years and they have two boys, Jonathon and Nicholas.
Joe Taylor is a 1965 graduate of LHS where he excelled as an athlete in football and especially in wrestling. Joe was a three-time state place winner and the first state wrestling champion from Thief River Falls, and from all of Section 8. He is highly regarded as one of the finest athletes Thief River Falls has ever had.
The 1956 State Hockey Championship team is considered to be one of the greatest hockey teams from Thief River Falls. Their great story can be found in the book “River of Champions” by Mary Halverson Schofield. Members of the team were Head Coach Dennis Rolle, Rodney Collins, Dale Glass, Darryl Smith, Jim Hall, Jack Poole, Glen Carlson, Cliff Strand, Duane Glass, Wendy Johnson, Art Cloutier, Fred Dablow, Ron Reese, Ken Sauve, Jon Wennberg, Jim Reese, and student manager Art Overbye.
The Hall of Fame ceremonies will be conducted virtually. Due to the COVID-19 pandamic we feel it is the best interest of all involved to not have an in-person celebration. We are sorry for any inconvience this may cause. We will be posting informtion/videos/etc. once we have them available.
