Shelby Erickson - Social Worker
I am a graduate from the University of North Dakota, go Sioux! I enjoy hunting and fishing with my family and friends and watching movies and TV shows. I was born and raised in Thief River Falls and attended CES when I was in grade school! I am here to support all of you wonderful students here at Challenger Elementary and your families. I am here to help you get to school each and every day. I am a great listener and am looking for friends to talk to about everything going on at school and at home. Matthew Gates - School Counselor
I am a school counselor at Challenger Elementary. I am from Wisconsin originally where I obtained my Master's degree from UW-River Falls. I previously worked as a long term substitute counselor in Chippewa Falls. I enjoy biking and reading during my free time. I am here to support all of the students and staff at Challenger Elementary. I am here to listen and help you if you are having problems with friends, school, homework, and emotions. I want to help you stay positive all day and help you to achieve life goals for school and home. I am here to cheer you and help you succeed. Jill Johnson - School Counselor
I have been a teacher for 26 years! I've taught for 12 years at Challenger Elementary, most of them in 3rd Grade, some in Kindergarten & Title I. I ran a pregnant & parenting teen program for the TRF district for 8 years, as well. I've also had the opportunity to teach 4th grade near the Mexican border right out of college ... Harlingen, Texas, for 4 years. I can help solve problems you are having trouble solving on your own. I'm here to listen if you are hurting, worried or need a friend.
