Study Buddy After School Tutor Program
The Study Buddy After School Tutoring Program at Franklin Middle School is available for students who need extra support with their homework. This tutoring program is offered without cost to families. It is our intention to match our FMS students who have the “gotta-wanna-do-it” spirit to improve their academic skills and knowledge, with motivated and helpful Lincoln High School student tutors who are willing and able to assist students to do better in school.
Tutors are available from 3:15-4:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Students are encouraged to select two days per week to participate in each week to ensure success. Of course, consistent attendance is also a priority.
Although all subjects may be worked on, but first priority may be given to a particular one.
Tawnya Stroot is the on-site adult supervisor at FMS, and she will be in the Media Center with your student during their tutoring time.
Media Center Phone Number: 218.681.8813, ext. 2134
Diane W. Johnson works at LHS during the school day, and she is responsible for recruiting the tutors. Referrals are gathered from teachers, parents, and students themselves to get the students needing some academic help, into the program. We appreciate the time and effort that students are willing to invest in his/her studies.
All of our tutors are current Lincoln High School students. They are rewarded for their involvement with either community service credit hours for belonging to the Key Club or National Honor Society, and/or hourly wages. All tutor expenses are covered through other sources.
There are a limited number of spots available for this program, however, if you're interested in having your FMS student being a part of this program please contact:
Camille Jacobson, LSC & Study Buddy Coordinator

If tutor availability isn't an option at that point, your name will be added to the waiting list.
